Fly Delta’s award-winning app is getting a major update just in time for summer travel. Introducing Fly Delta 6.0, the most comprehensive software update since 2019, with improvements that help customers save time, discover new destinations and manage their journeys, even when the unexpected happens.
Available today, the latest software update includes new features, functionality and experiences that redefine how customers can interact with Delta. This includes a completely new look for the Help Center, constant access to navigation information and integration with our Online Assistant. Shortly after, in early summer, customers will soon be able to use their Delta SkyMiles IDs in the Fly Delta app to easily connect to Delta Sync Wi-Fi onboard.
“The Fly Delta app enables customers to enjoy the full Delta experience, from exciting travel to seamless access to member experiences and content,” said Eric Phillips, vice president and chief digital officer. “This 6.0 update brings the Delta difference to customers, no matter where they are.”
From home to destination, an average of 85 percent of Delta SkyMiles members use the industry-leading Fly Delta program when they travel. Use the new Explore page in the app to get inspired and easily plan and book your next Delta trip. The highly personalized experience is integrated into Delta’s integrated digital system, remembering your recent events and highlighting places to discover.
Navigate your app easily with a simplified navigation bar that better reflects how customers use your app today. The new My Trips tab provides important information about upcoming trips in a different view that reflects how customers navigate the delta.com homepage.
Customers connecting to Delta Sync Wi-Fi using a personal device with the Fly Delta software installed can log in by connecting to the “DeltaWifi.com” wireless network. Easily log in with your Fly Delta app ID and access free high-speed Wi-Fi on available routes. This feature will be released in early summer.
Delta Sync Wi-Fi will continue to be implemented in 2024, and it is expected that many Delta customers will have a fast and free connection by the end of the year.
Customers viewing information while traveling can now use the new boarding pass feature, which provides one-touch boarding information, even when customers navigate through other app screens. Check your next flight, plan your dream trip, access the orientation map in the app and more, all while connected to your boarding pass.
The updated software takes the unexpected simplicity of the Help Center look. During periods when travel on Delta flights is interrupted, customers will have an easy view of the steps needed to continue their journey.
“Every customer interaction is an opportunity to show customers how Delta makes a difference when customers need us most,” Phillips said. “The Help Desk view enables direct communication with customers in the event of travel disruptions and gives them more options when it comes to their travel.”
Through the Help Center, customers can select and manage Delta flight options, track baggage and more on one dynamic page. Connect directly to your Assistant app with one tap to ask questions or get more information from within the app. Additionally, this view now shows more information than Delta Reservations professionals can see when assisting customers who contact Delta by phone or text.
Delta teams are always listening to customer and employee feedback and looking for ways to keep them engaged with the program. Watch this space for more updates coming summer 2024.

Major airlines have suspended flights to and from Israel after the country declared war following a major attack by Hamas.
Israel struck more than 1,000 targets in Gaza, and Palestinian militants continued to fire rockets, sounding air raid sirens in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Pictures posted online show thick smoke near the terminal of Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv.
Many arrivals and departures at Ben Gurion Airport were canceled or delayed, according to the airport’s online flight dashboard, which also showed a sharp increase in flights. Most of them were operated by Israel’s national airline El Al, while others were operated by regional carriers such as Turkey’s Pegasus Airlines and Greece’s Blue Bird Airways.
